Two ways to blur
Whole image applies a smooth Gaussian blur to everything — handy for soft backgrounds behind text, dreamy effects or placeholder images. The strength is measured in pixels of your original photo, so what you see in the preview is what you get at full size.
Selected areas lets you drag boxes over the parts you want to hide: faces of bystanders, car number plates, addresses, bank or card details on a screenshot. Choose blur, pixelate or a solid black box, add as many areas as you need, and download at full resolution. Everything stays on your device.

Common uses
- Privacy on social media: Hide children's faces, house numbers and number plates before posting.
- Sharing screenshots: Cover email addresses, phone numbers, OTPs and account balances.
- Documents: Mask parts of an ID number on a copy you have to share.
- Design: Create soft backgrounds that make overlaid text easy to read.
Tips and good to know
- For passwords, card numbers and ID numbers, use Black box or strong Pixelate — weak blurs can sometimes be partly reversed.
- Want to remove hidden GPS data too? Run the result through the Image Metadata Viewer.
- To make the subject pop instead, try the Background Remover with a blurred background.
